This week's must-try wines are from Antonio Galloni’s article, The 2019 Napa Valley Cabernets: A Deep Dive . Enjoy an excerpt from this article and notes for this week's must-try below! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "My annual report on Napa Valley is jam-packed. The 2019 Cabernets are big, bold wines that show the extroverted side of Napa Valley. There are plenty of fabulous wines at all levels, but 2019 does not have the across the board consistency of a truly great vintage, so readers will have to be selective." -- Antonio Galloni, The 2019 Napa Valley Cabernets: A Deep Dive, January 2022 1. 2018 Accendo Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon 2. 2019 Amici Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon 3. 2019 AXR Winery Proprietary Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 4. 2019 Belle Glos Las Alturas Vineyard Pinot Noir 5. 2018 Buccella Cabernet Sauvignon 6. 2018 Colgin IX Estate 7. 2018 Dominus 8. 2019 Silver Ghost Cabernet Sauvignon 9. 2018 Spottswoode Cabernet Sauvignon Estate 10. 2019 Titus Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon

Titus

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

Delectable Wine
9.1

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is vibrant and full of energy. Sweet red cherry, mocha, spice, new leather and licorice are nicely layered in this mid-weight, polished Cabernet Sauvignon. I would give the 2019 a year or two in bottle and then enjoy it over the next decade or so. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, January 2022)

Colgin

IX Estate Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2018

Delectable Wine
9.9

The 2018 IX Estate is a wine of extraordinary depth and intensity. The aromatics along are positively dazzling. Crushed herbs, lavender, spice, menthol, chocolate, licorice and gravel lend tremendous power and gravitas. Just as impressive it was last year, the 2018 is positively riveting today. What a wine! Belle Glos

Las Alturas Vineyard Pinot Noir 2019

Delectable Wine
9.3

The 2019 Pinot Noir Las Alturas captures all the signatures of the Belle Glos style and yet has quite a bit of freshness too. That makes for a compelling Pinot for readers who enjoy big, large-scaled wines. Sweet spice, rose petal, lavender and spice are nicely kicked up here. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, January 2022)

Accendo Cellars

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Delectable Wine
10

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon is just as magnificent as it was last year. Dark, sensual and enveloping, the 2018 possesses off the charts intensity and fabulous balance. Black cherry, plum, chocolate, spice and licorice all build over time, but it is the wine's mind-blowing intensity and pedigree that are once again so alluring. The 2018 is quite simply regal. 2014 Pic Review is for 2018? Which gets 10 from AG?

Spottswoode

Family Estate Grown St. Helena Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Delectable Wine
9.9

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon is stunning, just as it was last year. A dark, ample, brooding Cabernet, the 2018 offers up the essence of black cherry, plum, mocha, spice, graphite, leather and incense. The 2018 has shut down considerably since I tasted it last year. That won't be a problem in a few years' time, but today the 2018 is decidedly brooding. Even so, it shows tremendous finesse and tons of pure breed. It is without question one of the epic, present-day wines for the estate. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, January 2022)

Buccella

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Delectable Wine
9.2

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon is a heady, showy wine endowed with port-like richness. Blackberry jam, espresso, licorice, cloves and new French oak saturate the palate. Buccella is one of the most opulent wines in Napa Valley. As always, it packs a serious punch. There is zero subtlety though, and not much in the way of refinement. Amici Cellars

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

Delectable Wine
9.2

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) is polished, nuanced and so delicious. Silky and floral, with vibrant red-toned fruit, the Napa Valley Cabernet delivers the goods. It is a positively stellar wine from Amici. I loved it. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, January 2022)

Silver Ghost

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

Delectable Wine
9.2

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon opens with soaring floral and savory overtones. Inky, deep and flavorful, this dense yet mid-weight Cabernet delivers the goods. I would prefer to drink it on the young side, while the inky, jammy fruit remains vibrant. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, January 2022)

Dominus Estate

Dominus Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2018

Delectable Wine
9.8

The 2018 Dominus has really shut down over the last year. I underestimated its imposing structure and density, both of which are on fully display today. The 2018 is a potent Dominus endowed with superb depth and tons of vertical explosive energy allied to a feeling of elegance that becomes increasingly apparent over time. Dark fruit, spice and a whole range of earthy, savory notes add layers of complexity. Superb. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, January 2022)

AXR Winery

Proprietary Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2019

Delectable Wine
9.1

The 2019 Red Blend Proprietary Red is loaded with jammy dark cherry, plum, mocha, new leather and sweet spice. Soft contours and plush tannins give this opulent red plenty of immediacy and near term appeal. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, January 2022)
