Plum, black cherry, licorice and dark chocolate flavors. Still tannic and ++ acidity. Quite dense even after a hours long decant and open 2 days. Needs more time to rest.

different from the wine i normally drink. i’m really enjoying it. leather and earth on the bouquet, however, not over powering. after it opens up, very balanced. dry not very tannin.

This is really good even on opening. Really compelling with dark fruit, earthy tones, and integrated tannin and a nice streak of acidity all the way through.

You could balance this wine on the head of a pin. Amazing. Should hold this a while. Spice, pepper, on the nose. Drying tannins.

Emily and I stumbled on a wine tasting at USQ Wines (4/22/17) on Sangiovese wines. Our favorite and brought home for dinner the same night. Dry, drinkable.

Through the years this wine has a special thing for me, had it many times over 10 years, always a treat , good solid nose, long complex taste, a great Sangiovese expression, this vintage is not ready yet, but still wonderful.
