Ferraton Père & Fils
La Matinière Crozes-Hermitage Syrah
2014 vintage wasn't great in the Rhone Valley and this is indeed a good wine but not great.
Clear with a medium ruby colour.
Clean on the nose, with a white pepper spiciness and a bit of toastiness. Blackberry and plum flavours with a bit of leathery notes.
Dry on the palate, with medium acidity, tannins and body. Medium length of flavours as well.
Good wine.

A lovely expression of a wonderful varietal. On the nose cherries, damp black earth, tar, and black pepper. On the palate plenty of red fruit on the front end with a nice finish of crushed black pepper, tobacco, and moss.
