Saint-Julien Red Bordeaux Blend

‘75 Vintage. Fresh cigar tobacco, dried fruit and mushrooms on the nose. Tannins on the forefront, displaying great intensity. More earth on the palate. Great structure.

Work: cellar inspection.
Mature. Thinning at the edges, palate texture and flavor wise...but still fragrant and delicious. Good buy around $75-100

Old style Bordeaux that was one of my early acquisitions in '77 ; bright acidity adding firmness to mouthfeel. Classic construction from the 70's.

What is the cliché? No good old wines but good old bottles. This was a very good bootle.

Holding together but past its prime for sure. Savoury as all hell.

After 30-40 min in the decanter this bird began to sing. Enjoyed by several tasting it.

Definitely seen it’s better days but still enjoyable to drink. Fill was upper shoulder. Gritty and earthiness typical of an older Bordeaux. Needed 15 minutes to come together. Fun to drink

Double magnum! Beautiful.

Surprising amount of tannin left after all these years. Great color - expected there to be some brown around the edges but none present. Almost looked like it was only 10 years old. Not much fruit left but nice old wine.

Needed some time to open up, but once it did, this old boy still had some life in it.
