Terre Nere (Campigli Vallona)

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese

Popped and poured; no formal notes. At this stage the 2011 BdM from Terre Nere is fully developed and luscious. Dark cherry fruit with some stewed qualities, kirsch liqueur, orange zest, herbs and espresso. The body is full and almost a bit chewy. Structure is firm but tannin is well integrated and comes across fairly round which is probably more of an indication of the vintage than anything else. Finish is long. This is a more rich and opulent version of this wine. Drink now and through 2030. — 8 days ago

Permartina Pignoletto 2010

Delectable Wine
9.1

Dark bright straw. Very fresh and precise on the nose and palate, with lively harmonious acidity nicely lifting the lemon, apricot and spicy flavors. Really sings on the long, brisk finish. Permartina has always been Vallona’s most interesting white wine and it is no different this year. (Ian D'Agata, Vinous, Jan 2018)

Terre Nere (Campigli Vallona)

Riserva Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2011

Power, but in a way still subtile. Fruit(cherries, strawberry), coffee in an harmonieus combination with acids and a far hint of tannine — 5 years ago

Vallona

Diggioanni Cabernet Sauvignon

Tannins. Pepper. And a mellow, round aftertaste. I had no idea they produced such great cabs in the Emilia Romagna, but I can see how well it goes with a proper Bolognese ragú. Highly recommend — 6 years ago
