Bodega Mendel is a boutique winery with an incredible story. Combination of 1928 Argentinian Malbec vines and other Bordeaux varietals provide a combination of sophisticated structure with enough complexity to keep the palate engaged. My favourite wine from Mendel. — 9 years ago

On the nose, ripe, floral; blackberries, black raspberries, creamy raspberries, dark cherries, blank licorice, rich dark soils, beautiful baking spices, caramel, medium dark but soft spice and dark fresh red & purple florals.

On the palate, the body is full. The tannins are sticky and powdery. Baked fruits of; blackberries, black raspberries, creamy raspberries, dark cherries, black licorice, rich dark soils, beautiful baking spices, lite caramel, medium dark but soft spice and dark fresh red & purple florals. Beautiful in the mouth. The acidy is round excellent. The long well balanced, elegant finish is gorgeous.

This is their Chenin. I’ve requested Delectable add it.

On the nose; wet wool, white citrus, pears, some honey, pineapple, beautiful minerality, nice chalkiness, and yellow & white florals.

On the palate; the body is medium full, pear, some honey, pineapple, beautiful minerality, nice soft chalkiness, and yellow & white florals. Very similar to Loire and drinks better younger, yet will still age.
