A perfect pairing with tonight's sausage pizza and lasagna. Took me a minute to figure out who makes this wine, as the producer's name is in the smallest print. Dusty cherries, plums, leather, basil, tea leaves at the end. Fair acidity and a very soft mouthfeel make this chianti a winner.

Serego Alighieri- Vaio Armaron - 2013- amarone classico. Deep ruby coloration. On the nose, cherry, cheeey liquor, florals, perfume. On the palate, cherry, blackberry, vanilla, with chocolate/cocoa powder in the finish. After the cheese pairing, extremely long finish of chocolate covered black cherry liquor. — 5 years ago

Medium acidity to palate, followed by very light sweetness, then spices, followed by caramel sweet and light bitterness. Flavourful. Medium smooth tannin.
