Magical Dom for beach weekend in Phuket. Bottle was a little concerning as the cork came out a bit too easily and no pschttt. However the nose revealed right away that this was going to be special. Almost toffee and brioche notes on both the nose and the palate. Classy, complex with caramel and burned sugar notes, but almost weightless. Will remember this one for a while — 2 years ago

Back in Shanghai, after Jakarta, Bangkok, Phuket, Tokyo, Seoul and Beijing. Nice to sit back with a fantastic Pinot that starts out as a very drinkable wine to a bit more complex with a nice berry aroma. — 7 years ago

More Phuket beach wines - this time a legendary 1970 Latour. Bottle opened and sat for 2-3 h before consumption. Nose is brilliant- a little brett, tobacco, cedar and hints of red berry fruits. Palate was complex with still some red berries, cedar, tobacco and loads of mint. Certainly very interesting but slightly over the hill at this point, at least this bottle was. — 2 years ago
