@Cathy Corison : You seem to have run in to quite a few corked wines over your last many postings. Any ideas as to why that is?

I concur about the over abundance dance of corked wines ???

Daughters are home doing an archeological dig into our chaotic, unruly neglected cellar. Two take-homes: 1. Almost everything is holding up much better than I ever would have guessed, by decades in some cases. 2. Corks were shockingly bad, everywhere in the world, in the 1980’s.

Negociant Pinot Noir 2013

This 100% Anderson Valley Pinot Noir colors up to a medium-dark ruby, showing some browning along the edges. The nose offers lavender and tea aromas, while the palate is simply elegant. Beautiful, muted dark fruit is joined by gentle savory notes and easy tannins. It’s a wonderfully balanced wine that finishes lovely and floral.

Pepé does not like merlot, but she enjoyed this one, a deep berry taste w/ a nice after taste. The Josh is short for Joseph, so maybe Pepè like it because it was name after me;-/ - Pepi approves!! — 9 years ago
