A farewell of sorts. For both this vintage (only a couple of bottles and I fear years left as this is reaching maturity) and to a co-worker and friend who will be headed to this very chateau to make the enterprise even better. This pure Syrah, 2013, is grown entirely on gravelly clay soils from different geological sectors. Black fruits ( b.berries and b. Currents) dominate on the nose, complemented by leather notes & subtle underwood and spice following aeration. Rich and smooth on the finish is fresh with a hint of violet. — 10 years ago
