Tastes like Tequila with a Scotch nose, Interesting concept worth trying once Distillery notes as follows, Single barrels of Añejo from El Tesoro are finally here—and they come with the best collaboration we've seen out of Jalisco. This barrel was aged for 9 months in ex-bourbon casks before a 4-month finishing in Laphroaig barrels, the world's most richly flavored Scotch. The gentle addition of smoke from the peaty barrel without breaking from Tequila traditions is a beautiful combination. Like everything Tequila legend Carlos Camarena puts out—it's well balanced and subtle retaining it's focus on the agave. Bright tropical fruits mingle with a whiff of smoke. The earthiness of the peat brings out the spicier flavors of the agave showcasing a roasted pepper note beautifully. Like an expert chef, the dash of salt from the Laphroaig influence helps everything else to really pop. — 4 years ago
— 10 years ago
