From tannico. A dry cortesi that is on the edge of being exceptional. Pair with pasta in cream sauce or sweet Italian cheese — 6 years ago

Presented double-blind. Deep ruby color with a slightly watery rim; medium viscosity. No signs of particles or gas. On the nose, dark fruits, plums, cassis, some bell pepper, dry leaf tobacco, earth and some baking spice indicating the use of some barrique, probably French oak. On the palate, creme de cassis, some gravely earth, and baking spices. Medium plus tannin, medium plus acid. This is a very elegant wine. Beautiful, long, gorgeous finish. Likely a Cabernet Sauvignon-based blend. The wine was balanced and leaning more towards its structure which took me to the Old World, most likely left bank Bordeaux. Given the characteristics, I was thinking Margaux specifically. So that was my call...likely with 20+ years of age since it seems the tannins were integrating quite nicely. Turns out I got the variety and the Old World part right 😅. What a wine! I didn’t know folks were making stuff like this in Sicilia. This could stump anyone without any prior experience. Killer QPR even at $50. — 4 years ago
30 month on the lees. Entry level of the winery. Chardonnay grown on sand and clay. Beautiful — 8 years ago
Had some shipped back from our trip to Sicily. This one is a stunner!!! Oh so good! — 2 years ago
Approximately 50/50 Nero d’Avola and Perricone which is a beautiful blend! High in acidity, quite tannic and plenty of red fruit. Also a “rustic” touch. Everything is still a bit on its own but after some additional cellartime this wine should be stellar! — 3 years ago
Pronounced mint Aromas. Deep color and concentration. Needs 2 hours of air to come into balance. Then very nice — 7 years ago

Deep ruby color.
Aromas of dark fruit, floral, spice, tar.
Flavors of black cherry, rose, raspberry, peppercorn, tar, stewed black plum, hint of cured meat. Rich, chewy tannins. So much going on!
