I agree, Ron. These are mostly from the winery directly. Even in Israel, they are hard to find. I just like to look for the boutique wineries wherever I travel
"Odedi"
Kadma Winery Red Dessert 2011 Israel
What a nice dessert wine.
Ruby in color with a dark brick rim.
On the nose, vanilla, oak, blackberries, figs, raisins, cloves and black pepper.
Medium plus in body with nice acidity, that cuts through the sweetness nicely.
Sweet on the palate with cherries, figs, raisins and cooked plums.
Very rich and enjoyable dessert wine, not too sweet, but just right.
The Grapes are from two selected vineyards in the Upper Galilee, in Israel, 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Merlot.
After fermentation, aged in clay pots for 4 months and then 10 months in French oak barrels. Only 100 cases produced. — 9 years ago
