A big, big fan of Varner and their Foxglove, the best QPR 2nd label in Cali, with Talley’s Bishop’s Peak a close second. Varner’s entry-level Los Alamos pinot is a super fresh, light-bodied style with ample fruit, depth, and acidity. For $20 it’s SOLID. Varner’s higher end chard/pinot are superb. Seek out the entire range. Foxglove truly rocks as well. — 2 years ago
Medium purple colour with strong raspberry jam on the nose, as well as maraschino cherry, pepper and a touch of menthol. Good medium to heavy body, with medium tannins that wrap around the mouth at first but mellow out and soften very quickly. On the palate, notes of raspberry and strawberry jam, white chocolate, pepper and some wet soil. Stewed strawberries on the long finish. — 5 months ago
Nice begin-finish after open for 4 hours on this split. Balanced dark Cherry liquor, grilled herbs & surprising perfume on finish w/Foxglove from Tulip Tree Creamery. No disappointment here. — 7 years ago

Have with the foxglove tulip tree double cream wash rind earthy cheese -wine is aged in French oak, which rounds out the tannins... — 7 years ago
