Schiller Berg rosé 2009, Carnuntum.
A mix of Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt and PN, quite dark in colour with fresh wild strawberries and strawberry aromas. Slightly tannic, the way a pomegranate is. Great balance and brilliantly drinkable. Amazing for an almost 10y rosé! — 7 years ago
Redmann Zweigelt, Carnuntum.
Quite closed at the beginning, opens gradually to reveal ripe black cherries, cassis and kirsch, with a touch of dark nougat, coffee and leather. Very youthful, with fruity richness, polished yet grippy tannins and juicy acidity.
This has got to be the best Zweigelt I’ve come across. — 7 years ago
Fantastic dessert wine. Honey and honeydew melon but not too sweet with excellent t acidity. What a beauty. — 6 years ago
Buschberg.
15y old Blanc de Noir from Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt & PN, just released on the market. Nose dominated by the wood, with burnt salty caramel, followed by red fruit & spices. Quite rich & tannic (you need a large glass! and time), this is a red wine in disguise! Highly interesting. — 7 years ago
Blaufränkisch Seeberg
Rick & quite powerful yet elegant & complex at the same time. Aronia & black cherries plus spices. Aged in large botte and barriques with the wood perfectly integrated. Juicy acidity, with great quality of fruit. Very youthful for 10y. An amazing wine. — 7 years ago
Blauburgunder
Quite powerful & tannic, with dark brooding fruit, gripping, chocolatey tannins and a trace of blood & iron. Very warm vintage yet the juicy acidity balances everything out nicely. Would not take this for a PN blind - more a Baja from Dao or a modern Nebbiolo. This is a very, very good wine. — 7 years ago
Still so fresh and balanced — 8 years ago
