Exemplifies the 2016 vintage for N. Rhône, balance of concentration, elegance, and perfume. Nose is great combination high-toned/savory notes of peppercorn, bay leaf, woodsmoke, bramble, crushed blackberry, violet, candied olive, licorice candy. Palate confirms the nose, spice-driven, young and taut with its mineral and earthy tones driving through the finish. Tannins have great texture and power with some pliancy to them, approachable now — 7 years ago
