Amarone is, admittedly, a bit of an acquired taste. This is a particularly smooth representation of the style. Bright cherry and blueberry flavors are present up front, leading into a nicely-balanced, but slightly tart, extended finish. The 2019 Barolo Le Coste di Monforte is a gorgeous, exotic, intriguing wine. Dried flowers, mint, lavender, spice, tobacco and incense are all beautifully delineated. Ample and vibrant, with tons of depth, the 2019 is absolutely compelling today. The 2019 offers tons of Le Coste power, and a good deal of finesse as well. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, December 2023)
