Cool-climate Pinot Noir from relatively young vines on volcanic soils in Osorno Valley, in the Chilean Lake District (Northern Patagonia). Fermented with indigenous yeasts, aged in neutral oak for 12 months. Quite funky. Fragrant nose with aromas of red fruit, forest floor, baking spices, a hint of cola. Medium-bodied, fresh, juicy red fruit (tart strawberry, cranberry) on the palate. Soft tannins, good acidity. Delicious. Impressed — 2 years ago
A little funk goes a long way in this país. Closest thing I've had to Lopez Heredia, just short of the real thing. Of interest @Chris MacLean — 8 years ago
