Castellano Rosso Piceno DOC Superiore Montepulciano Sangiovese

I bought this because I love the blend, 65% Montepulciano 35% Sangiovese, and had to try it. It’s very smoky/earthy at first which I’m not a big fan of but I like it so much better tonight. Dark purple in color with dark fruit on the palate and a beautiful finish. - Sandy’s Shack Imported Wine and Beer — a year ago

Torremilanos Ojo Gallo Tempranillo 2020

“Ojo Gallo’, Castellano for ‘rooster eye’ (in other words, what the French call ‘oeil de perdrix’), hearkens back to the traditional clarete style of the region. This dark rosé (light red?) is a field blend of very old vines of Tempranillo, Garnacha, Bobal, Monastrell, Viura, Albillo and Malvasia co-fermented in cement and raised for 8 months in used barrels before bottling without added sulfur” — 2 years ago

Clos Bagatelle

Veillée d'’Automne Saint-Chinian Syrah Blend 2010

Smells like the sidewalk in front of Sparks after Paul Castellano got capped, tastes like blueberry covered roast meat with herbs sprinkled with granite dust, ending in a long bloody finish. Who says St Chinian doesn't age? — 9 years ago
