This is the Mencía red. 2018. Not much to see on the simple, direct yet modern label. Deep dark maroon to black color. Aroma is perfumed and floral. Aromatic plums, rose petals, violets. Cherry juice. Flavors are juicy and spiced. Cedar meets cherry fruit compote. Hint of masala. Bittersweet streak to finish. Unique floral red with a bit of GSM meets Tempranillo style to it. Savory & slightly salty finish. This would go with chorizos or a salty spicy sausage like nobody’s business. — a year ago
