Big and bold, the nose is cigar box and leather. On the palate dark fruit, tobacco, cocoa, leather and oak. Chewy tannic finish with fine acid. — 7 years ago

Just the right amount of funk - it is funky. A healthy amount of hops works to balance out the funk, not too avante-garde, a bit like a good jazz track. Something I'd love to drink again. — 8 years ago

One of my favorite grapes, Mencia is sometimes dull and boring. This one is bright and nuanced and complex with a great finish of chocolate, leather and berries. It was also a great deal at my local wine shop — Brands Wine — 11 years ago
