What a stunning wine! All that an extra 8 years did (I tried the same vintage in 2009, at the 10-year mark) was make it more layered and overall impressive. To drink now, decant well ahead (I’m talking minimum 3 hours) and drink from a ‘grand vin’, if you can. To drink later... probably the same? Either way, it will absolutely be worth it. — 8 years ago

Dense black plum and cherry fruit aromas that took time to appear. Initially, the nose was dominated by the scent of rubber tires. Same dark fruit flavors but they seemed a bit muted and flat. Juicy acidity comes through on the finish. Might be a bit past its prime. — 5 years ago
