This is a classic go to, 5 buck chuck from the German grocery store. I love how smooth and delicious it is, especially for the price! — 9 years ago

Remarkable for a 14-year old Chianti Classico. Color still looks youthful, and still is pretty saturated. Nose still has plenty of dark, macerated cherries, with crushed stone-infused gravel, but also tertiary notes of fragrant old mahogany furniture, a bit of cigar box, terra cotta tiles. Intense in the mouth, with surprising concentration. Still packed with tannin too. The fruit is competing with old leather notes. Vigorous acids in the mouth-puckery (with tannin) finish. Almost too intense on its own, but should go well with the upcoming Tuscan Peposo. — 3 months ago
