Camatta Creek

Bin 600 California Cabernet Shiraz 2018

For our Thanksgiving Dinner yesterday one of the wines we had the pleasure of opening was the 2018 Penfolds Bin 600 Cabernet Shiraz. A California wine 20 years in the making. Cabernet Sauvignon from all around Sonoma and Shiraz from the Camatta Hills Vinyard in the Paso Robles area. A blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon and 22% Shiraz.

On the nose there is black cherry, blackberry, black currant, spice, chocolate, herbal notes, eucalyptus, leather and earth.

On the palate is black cherry, blackberry, spice, clove, licorice, black pepper, savory smokey meat and earth.

This wine is medium to full bodied with medium+ acidity and medium+ fine tannins that gives a ling black fruit earthy finish. As yesterday was a day to give thanks for which I am sure we were all thankful for many reasons, family, friends, life and so much more. Please stay safe and healthy and look to the future with many thanks. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Camatta Creek

Cabernet Sauvignon

WTSO. Very good cab from Paso Robles. 2013 vintage. Definitely worth buying again at this price point, about $12. Dry, burnt fruit, dark berries, sweet to finish. — 6 years ago

Greg Norman Estates

Camatta Hills Reserve Syrah 2008

Big black fruit but balanced with structure and depth. Hard to resist a wine so easy to like. — 10 years ago
