This is Zingaro Old Vine Zinfandel 2014 from Castello di Amorosa - my new favorite winery!!!!! It is a wonderful spicy zin. Not as good as the iL brigante and yet more expensive, but it is a fantastic zinfandel. And Im not talking white zin - not my kind of wine. I hate it when the waiter doesn’t know the difference...
I digress, this has an amazing spicy chocolate beginning turning into a notes of oak and gravel. The finish is long and tart like that of a sour apple yet more on the blackberry dark currant side. It is so delicious!!!!! Give me more, more, more!!!! The difference between this and the IL Brigante is the tart finish. You must have dark chocolate with this one and cheese with the IL Brigante zinfandel. - see previous rating for IL Brigante. — 4 years ago
Excellent @ Brigante, 13% — a year ago
Lighted body, floral, had it for an apero with charcuterie (speck), pecorino cheese and garlic marinated in cold-pressed oil — 3 years ago
Clean but not complex. Good for a sunny day. — 7 years ago
My parents got this one while in Italy and it was one of the best I've ever had. — 7 years ago
D’Angelo Brigante Lucano Basilicata IGT 2017: A youthful & fruity blend of Aglianico, Merlot & Primitivo, displaying bright red fruits, soft tannins and a quick, short finish. Not lacking flavors whatsoever, however I still wanted more depth & texture which will come over time as this wine evolves toward maturity. Glad I still have 2 more bottles to cellar! Overall, a great wine, perfect with pizza and a nice QPR! Cheers🍷 — a year ago

This red blend starts a bit harsh . But after you take that first big swallow , the subsequent swallows are nice . Plenty of structure and flavors , this is a nice value at $30 per bottle . — 2 months ago
