I had this vintage in France in 2013 and it was brier-y and tannic. 6 years has smoothed, softened and deepened this wine. We drank it with vintner Richard Sanford and his wife and all agreed it was beautifully balanced. — 5 months ago
Ripe 2010, just sumptuous. Layer of blackberry, plum, pencil lead, prune . No flaws.

A beautiful Santa Maria Pinot from talented winemaker Dieter Cronje. More fruit forward and powerful than the adjacent Sta Rita hills cousins. Smooth, silky, with a long finish, balanced acidity and a touch of smoke on the nose.

This was described to us as having “layers of earth” and there was an earth element but the first impression was of fresh, bright red cherry and currant with ample acidity. It opened up to deeper notes of dark cherry and earth. Paired well with a modern version of Peking Duck with a rich reduction sauce spiked with sherry vinegar. I think a few years more in the bottle will develop more complexity. — a year ago
Smooth, full-bodied Syrah packed with dark black berry and plum flavors. Medium acidity and integrated tannins. Secondary notes of leather and earth. — a year ago
