Had two bottles of these to serve at a dinner for my daughter’s 21st birthday. They were wonderful wines, still lively and with plenty of full mouth for its 21 year age. But it also had that long finish of earth and dark cherry pit that well aged Bordeaux can have. It was enjoyed by all present. — 6 years ago
Friend of mine gave me about six bottles of wine to store for him close to 10 years ago. I put it out of the way in my wine room and forgot about it. He and I were having steaks for dinner last night and I found this 1995 ZD Cab amongst his stash; figured it was probably gone but what the hell- give it a try. The cork broke on the way out; bad sign. But it smelled good. First taste was absent tannins and had subtle fruit in the finish - it was certainly good enough to drink. We let it sit an hour while we cooked and by diner time it began showing strength and complexity. By the end of the meal it had evolved into a beautiful 24 year old Napa Cab. Great wine experience. And the clincher is - there’s a bottle of 2001 ZD Cab still in his stash in my wine room! — 5 years ago

This is the second bottle we had in the last few month and the 2014 is showing well. If you know the secret code found on the label you can see that the juice came from the Rutherford area. While not a powerful wine, it has substantial typical characteristics of a valley floor Napa Cab. Very enjoyable now and for at least a couple more years. Fine effort. — 6 years ago

Had the 2013 Rice-Spivak Cobb PN that you gave me last night. It was as close to a French Burgundy as I have ever had in a California Pinot. Very nice. — 6 years ago

Wonderful acidity, great pepper on the mid-palette and a nice, long spicy finish. — 5 years ago
