Yes. Dry dusty tannins supported by elegant cherry and berry foundations. Not that full of body. I imagine it might be the favourite tipple of a bookish Piedmont priest. — 10 years ago
Better than the usual NZ cat pee. Touch of oak gives body. Well made stuff. — 10 years ago
Jamsheed Harem is one of them minimal intervention wines. You probably need a beard to really appreciate it. This Cabernet Franc is light bodied but full of funky assertive flavour. Imagine a nineteenth century farmhouse in Provence. This is what they would have been drinking before a post lunch game of Kick the Peasant. — 10 years ago
High altitude Pinot. Medium body, subtle foresty fruits. Sit me under a weeping willow and call off all appointments...

Medium bodied, cherry and plum up front. Faint whiff of ancient hymnbook in a Franciscan priory on the nose. As Italian as Berlusconi's fingerprints. — 10 years ago
A forceful Italian lookalike red. An Anthony La Paglia, if you like. Attractive, but not brilliant. Would always help you polish off a ragu. No Oscar winner. — 10 years ago

Fruit to the fore it with buttery oak also in balance, this is a very approachable Aussie Chard with Enough oak for the wood lovers amongst us. — 10 years ago
Dark cherry and blackcurrant to the fore. A bit of a fruit bomb, but still, as ever, a Coonawarra classic. May be even better in three years' time. — 10 years ago

Dolcetto at a bargain price. Medium bodied, elegant tannins. Dark cherries in the mix. The kind of wine a well to do Cardinal has with his ragu. — 10 years ago
