Alder Springs Vineyard ‘Kinesis’ 2013: Medium-full bodied. Lovely structure & balance. Juicy fruit notes of blackberry, blueberry, boysenberry, plum with a small touch of licorice & baking spice. Long flavorful finish. Consisting of 49% Grenache, 19% Mourvèdre & 32% Counoise, this Rhône-style red blend from Mendocino County was very fruity, concentrated & complex. All in all, a beautiful small production wine I am appreciative to have enjoyed. Great weekend to all! Cheers🍷 — 2 years ago
Conti di San Bonifacio Monteregio Di Massa Marittima Riserva 2018: Medium-bodied. Excellent balance between acidity & tannins. Dark fruit dominate, followed by cherry, dark chocolate, leather, oak & spice. Long smooth finish. Consisting of 85% Sangiovese, 10% Syrah & 5% Cabernet Franc, this beautiful Tuscan red blend presented such bold elegant flavors yet had a sophisticated/harmonious balance & appeal. It was attractive. It was delicious. It was great value. Paired nicely with prosciutto cotto & mushroom pizza! Great day to all! Cheers🍷 — 2 years ago
Tenuta Buon Tempo Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2016: Medium-bodied. Well balanced. Mild acidity & smooth tannins. Tasting notes of ripe cherry, plum, tobacco, earth & oak. Soft lengthy finish. Overall, a very enjoyable wine that showcased the classic Brunello profile you would have expected & grown to love. 1500ml liquid beauty! Great day to all! Cheers🍷 — 2 years ago
Schug Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2021: Medium-light bodied. Balanced structure. Smooth acidity & tannins with bright fresh flavors of cherry, raspberry, strawberry, earth and a hint of oak. Medium herbal finish. All in all, a light, youthful & fruity wine that did not disappoint. Paired perfectly with the amazing food from Bacan Lake Nona (especially the Whole Truffle Chicken Two Ways & the Duck Breast 😋🤩). Great day to all! Cheers🍷 — 2 years ago
Castello di Gabiano ‘Il Ruvo’ Grignolino del Monferrato Casalese 2017: Medium-bodied. Noticeable tannins & lively acidity. Complex aromas with bright fruity taste. Fresh flavors of strawberry, raspberry, cherry, dried herbs, earth & a hint of oak. Velvety long finish. Made from 100% Grignolino grape, a Piemonte grape variety, this wine offered a soft delicate texture yet rich red fruit taste. For me, this was a great find; an exotic northern Italian beauty that does not have as strong of a personality as a Nebbiolo, Barbera or Dolcetto but can stand in its own! Happy Wine Wednesday to all! Cheers🍷 — 2 years ago
Santo Wines Santorini Assyrtiko 2019: Medium-bodied. Beautiful bright acidity. An inviting aromatic nose of lemon zest, grapefruit & minerals. Tasting notes of lemon, pear, apple, honey, cream & minerals. Long finish with a touch of saline. Love this wine and everything it presents. Its rich minerality & acidity is top notch. Simply an outstanding wine that represents its terroir like no other. Close your eyes, take a sip and be transported to a Greek volcanic island. Highly recommend. Great weekend to all! Rafael et Fils ‘Pour Rosie’ Oak Knoll District Chardonnay 2017: Full-bodied. Beautiful balance. Inviting aromas of peach, pear & lemon. Tasting flavors of apple, lemon zest, butter, cream & oak. Clean medium finish. For some reason I had low expectations on this wine but was definitely pleasantly surprised. For me, it closely resembled a top-tier Burgundian style wine but it was from California. All in all, a fantastic Chardonnay which was extremely lovely on the palate & very generous on the pocketbook. Great weekend to all! Cheers🍷 — 2 years ago
Rinaldini ‘Vecchio Moro’ Lambrusco Dell’Emilia IGT: Fun. Fruity. Fizzy. Bright & fresh red and black fruit notes with a dry & refreshing finish. Not overpowering however bursting with soft bubbles & delicious flavors. For me, this is the way lambrusco should be! Cheers 🍷 — 2 years ago
Two excellent Sonoma Valley Cabernet Sauvignons. Well-aged! Well balanced! Both hitting their prime! Honestly, slight difference between these two full-bodied wines as the reserve had a deeper, bolder taste with lots more dark fruit & oak, however they both offered a deliciously smooth finish. Gulfi NeroSanLorè 2006: Medium-full bodied. Well balanced. Velvety & refined tannins. Intense aromas & deep flavors of cherry, plum, blackberry and notes of sweet tobacco, leather, earth & oak. Smooth long finish. For me, one of the best expressions of Nero d’Avola I have ever tasted. Loved the vibrant fruits after all these years. Happy Sunday to all! Make it a great day!
