Great as aperitif. Creamy smokiness and berries. Smooth with nice depth: slight leather and earthy minerality to accompany somewhat tart dark fruit. Fine tannins and acidity. — 10 years ago

Only tried 2nd day after being opened. Overwhelming aroma of dry leaves and fresh compost with red fruit being more subtle. Cooked fruit on the palate, and some earthiness, but not as much on the nose. Wasn't too acidic at this point, quite full, round and savoury but easy to drink. — 10 years ago

Great to celebrate Mother's Day, a wine like a strong matriarch. Full, but tender. Expected to need to decant this bottle, but we enjoyed it quite readily straight from the bottle. Very nice, but not sure if elevated price is totally appropriate. But we made some fond memories and it was great with filet mignon and grilled vegetables. — 10 years ago
