Currently sipping batch LRB40 at 91 proof. For a bourbon distilled in California I have to say I'm impressed. The nose is a little on the rye side. The palette is a little spicy, giving way to brown sugar and a little latent salted butter. Although not as rich, If you like Bulleit barrel strength, or Whistle Pig, you will like this; especially at the comparable respective price points. A little longer on the barrel might yield a little more depth and richness. Nicely executed for a young bourbon. — 7 years ago
