2016 vintage. You can really smell the fruit. The nose is much sweeter than the taste. Jammy notes of berries with a huge hint of prunes. The rich, dark, thick color foretells the taste to expect. Pared this with crab stuffed mushrooms, baba ghanoush, and wheat thins. This one makes me wonder why I don’t drink more Malbec. — 7 years ago
Just finished a bottle of the 2009 vintage with a meal of lamb and eggplant lasagna. Delicious paring. I really like this wine. Good with game, too. — 9 years ago
Drank this with a light meal of sautéed Japanese eggplant and French bread with garlic and olive oil and a little sea salt. This wine paired wonderfully. The nose reminded us of the smell of prunes in a big way. Loved the earthiness. — 6 years ago
Had this with a baked Brie tonight. Pared very well. — 7 years ago
Had this in the cellar for a couple of years. Finally pulled the cork and had it with some pizza for dinner. Was very good with a meal, but this one would be equally enjoyable alone. Special thanks to my friend Bobby in Bakersfield for sending me this one. — 9 years ago
Wow, just had this with a meal of lamb & eggplant lasagna. Until tonight, Tempranillo was our go-to wine for this meal. Enjoying another glass as dessert. Not as earthy as expected, but the hints of spice balanced well. Overall a bit lighter than other pinots. Beautiful color, but definitely not dark or deep to the eye. Picked this tasty critter up on a tasting tour several months ago and am glad I did. I can imagine this going well with pheasant. — 7 years ago

Had the 2011 with pizza tonight. Loved the strong notes of plum/prune. The longer it airs, the better it gets. — 6 years ago
