Pretty good partner for Scampi and Chips — 7 years ago
At 15% ABV this bad boy deserves to be shared. Glorious fruit with just a hint of tannin it’s subtle rather than complex with a nose to die for. I spent as much time inhaling as imbibing. — 7 years ago
Recently back from Australia with a new found respect for good Shiraz. Unfortunately this is not the best Shiraz I’ve tasted, in fact it’s not the best McGuigan Shiraz I’ve tasted. It’s an okay red but for a Shiraz it disappoints both the nose and the palate. As for being labelled “reserve” I can’t argue with that as it’s a just a little too reserved for me. — 7 years ago
As a budget wine I used half of this in cooking before tasting... what a waste! Not a great wine but perfectly quaffable. Will buy again if I can remember were I bought it. — 7 years ago
I bought this to make coq au vin and like a good cook, drank the remainder. Surprisingly okay for a plastic bottle of the cheapest plonk in the shop. It’s light with a good helping of fruit and a hint of tannin, kudos to the blender. The old expression “amused by its impertinence” comes to mind! — 7 years ago
I used to think JC only made budget wines in a big factory. I recently saw the winery in Barossa and it is big but this isn’t a budget wine. An impressive nose and heart warming body. Love it! — 7 years ago
Nose like a can of fruit cocktail and at 14.5% ABV eminently suitable for self medication. What’s not to love about it? — 7 years ago
Crisp and fruity but possibly too acidic to really enjoy on it’s own. There’s plenty more fish in the sea but it’s okay to keep in the fridge for emergencies. — 7 years ago
For me the quintessential Barossa Shiraz. It’s big, bold and hearty. Just inhaling it is a joy. The first hit delivers masses of fruit and a hint of spice. On a winter evening in the UK a glass of this is guaranteed to transport me to warm sunny days in the Barossa Valley. — 7 years ago

Fruity and inoffensive, quite pleasant well chilled. Not much character but didn’t expect it at this price point. — 7 years ago
