Vermentino Di Gallura DOCG Pale yellow color and intense aromas of ripe yellow fruit, honeysuckle, Mediterranean undergrowth. Dry. Great balance between taste and smell. — 10 years ago
There are Wines that come along every now and then that take you completely by surprise, this is one of them. Light straw yellow in color, pear, quince, Queen Anne's Lace with a lovely brininess on the nose. The wine opens up and reveals a lush mid palate with apricots, key lime pie creaminess, lemon grass and spice with a resonant mineral and saline finish that seems to come and go like small waves on the Sardinian coast...crazy long finish...wow! Think "anything" seafood, poultry (including duck), robust soft cheeses nuts and berries, or grilled veggies this wine is a killer pairing. A must for the picnic basket.
