v. good Etna Rosso with excellent q:p ratio. the 2011 tasted at the beginning of '14 shows beautiful ruby color and expressive nose of red fruit, roasted herbs, embers and an interesting balance in the mouth, warm and fruity but with relatively strong tannins and a remarkable mineral note, smoky finish. v. fine for a basic Etna red. — 11 years ago
Cleto Chiarli Lambrusco di Modena Dry Pruno Nero NV. Alcool 11%. V. dark yet soft and easy. purple-red, concentrated, nice pink bubbles. Intensity & fruitiness on the nose with notes of black fruit. Soft on the palate, v. easy to pair with food. — 11 years ago
From Écueil (Montaigne de Reims). Pinotant, fine and pleasing, v. attractive for who loves Pinot Noir. Noble golden colour with tiny bubbles. On the nose starts with yeast, bread, then it gets typical P. Noir with earthy and even animal notes. Mature, powerful, w. good complexity; as the wine changes in the glass a clear, well focussed note of green apple takes center stage. Equally good mouth with fine minerality along with fruits and some anise. V. good finish, fresh, good length. — 11 years ago
Francesco Cirri
A powerful Dolcetto
with a good balance. Ruby-purple in colour, on the nose is v. expressive and all on the fruity side, with prominent, distinct black
cherry notes and mixed berries in the background. In the mouth it has more body and structure than usual with a good freshness that helps not make it too soft (and it isn't). Some quiet bitter notes, but not the marked almond note one can find in other Dolcettos (and other light reds in Northern Italy). A balsamic note (that was not so evident on the nose) joins red fruitiness in a good finish. — 11 years ago
