How to even rate a wine like this? It's 30 years old and still delicious. Unsurprising depth/complexity with tobacco and leather to the fore. Black fruits in there, but seriously...30 years... — 8 years ago
Cherry on the nose, a note of bitumen on the palate. Restrained but intriguing flavor - I thoroughly enjoyed it but I hear it may have been drinking better a couple years ago. — 8 years ago
Big fruit and bbq smoke. Soft tannins but smoky in the mouth too. Interesting, but be careful what you pair it with. — 8 years ago
This is an interesting mouthful of wine - citrus tang on the nose, but in the mouth it's like a green papaya salad (spice, lime, fresh tropical fruit). Love it. — 8 years ago
A full-bodied and well-structured merlot with notes of blueberry, plum and coffee on the nose but doesn't quite follow through in the mouth. Admittedly I had the (wonderful) '08 in mind when we opened this, so I was looking for a bit more acid, a bit more spice. Good but not great (yet). — 8 years ago
OK as viogniers go. I'm a Rhone varietals fan, and this is well-structured with strong honey overtones, but I'm waiting for some sharp fruit to punch through the sweet, and it doesn't happen. Falls a bit short for me. — 8 years ago
There's quite a lot going on in this glass. There's a deep cherry bouquet with flinty notes that gets more and more redcurranty as the wine opens up. Smokiness in the mouth and a spicy finish make this one a keeper IMO. — 8 years ago
Now *this* is a beautiful merlot - all the delights of their 2012 Napa merlot on the nose, it *so* much more going on in the mouth. Soft, but complex tannins, a hint of vanilla, and a long, tangy, tasty, acidic finish. LOVE. — 8 years ago
Reconnecting with a grape that I've always been a fan of over the years. Forest floor, sharp red fruit and maybe even notes of banana, but all wrapped up in a light bouquet/mouth-feel that evokes burgundy.

2007 is drinking fabulously well right now. The tinge of bitumen on the nose, the bitter chocolate in the mouth. Restrained, but with so much going on in the mouth. This northern Rhone classic is right up my street. — 8 years ago
