Full of red fruit, bright and rich. Showing house style, perfectly focused and plenty of life left. — 9 years ago
Right. On. The. Money. Evolves every moment since you open it with no moment better or worse than the last. All Volnay should drink like this. — 9 years ago
Great density and focus. A 2005 Côte de Nuits with finesse that is finally starting to show itself. Theoretically hold for a bit but a delicious drink. — 9 years ago
No joke. All mineral but not austere. Still has 15-20 years left in it, as it was a little tight for 20-30 min but then flint, lush fruit, fresh acidity and a rocky satisfying finish. Great drink... Wish I had a case to watch over the next decade or so. — 9 years ago
Seems like it has a small window of peak and I was still 5-7 years ahead of it. Amazingly a baby, a little astringent but in a pleasant way, and focused fine but faintly hard tannins. Not saying I didn't enjoy the ride... — 9 years ago

Proof that old vine Barbera from the Nizza sub zone can be built for the ages. 15 years to go but vibrant and full of fresh acidity — 9 years ago
High toned. Bright with intense eucalyptus and licorice notes. A great drink that could probably go 5-8 more years. — 9 years ago

Ok. On a night of drinking Rousseau and Hirtzberger I can't believe how much this wine holds its own. Always knew these wines are legit, yet need time to come into their own. If you have one, hold it for 5+ years and let the oak integrate, but truly a surprisingly great drink. — 8 years ago
