Zenaida Cellars
Force de Fleurs White Rhone Blend
The best bottling of this white Rhone blend I’ve tasted yet, the 21’ gets the Templeton Gap designation and no longer has Picpoul Blanc which was blended in the previous 2 vintages.
Aromatic floral nose. Palate remains textured like previous vintages but with much crisper acidity.

Like the 19’, the 20’ has 35% Picpoul Blanc to go with 45% Grenache Blanc and the rest Viognier. But the 20’ gets the Adelaida District AVA designation, which is regarded by many as one of the better sub AVA’s of Paso.
Brighter acidity than the 19’, but still a bit too sweet on the palate for me. Chalky minerals is nice.
A delicious sip.

When I saw that the 19’ has 35% Picpoul Blanc, I was quite excited as I thought the 18’ could be better with higher acidity, and Picpoul Blanc would just do that.
Well I don’t think it did the trick - still not enough acidity to counter the creaminess and sweetness on the palate. Still very enjoyable, but better with spicy food.

A very aromatic white Rhône blend of Grenache Blanc and Viognier with chalky minerals. I could have mistaken this for a Vouvray because its richness and sweetness on the palate.
Very enjoyable but a bit too sweet for me as it does not have the vivid acidity like a Vouvray possesses.
