Villa Melnik
Rumyana Melnik
This is a red blend of mostly regional varietals with which I am unfamiliar. Perhaps I am unfamiliar with how these grapes are meant to taste in a wine. It reminds me of some Turkish and Thracian blends which I have encountered. However, this is not really to my taste; the flavors are strange to my palate and not what I am seeking from a bottle of red. Still, it it drinkable, and Cthulhu knows I have been served much worse 🙀

Feb 16th, 2018Blend of Shiroka Melnik (aka Broadleaved Melnik), Melnik 55, Merlot and Pinot Noir with a touch of oak. Red fruit and forest aromas in the nose, ripe cherries and spices on the pallate. A light to medium body, perfect summer wine and definitely food friendly!
