Edenia Fuxia Limniona - Syrah Rosé Blend
Back on track and drinking Greek. This was only my second rose on the trip and this one got my attention. Not only for its character, but it’s versatility with our meal. Apropos, the wine pours a deep fuchsia color. Bursting with fruit: luxardo cherry, raspberry, strawberry, kiwi, watermelon, pretty little purple flowers, minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry. Confirming the notes from the nose. There are tannins…but I would categorize them as low. Acid is medium+ however and the finish is long. Lovely, “fit” texture. A memorable rose that worked deftly with fresh tomatoes, olives and feta; fish soup; as well as handmade pasta and clams in light red sauce. Bravo.
