Muscadet-esque with white peach blossoms, crushed rock and expansive acidity. “Wedding night wine” (Wines of the Somlo region were rumored to increase the chances of conception and traditionally consumed at Hungarian weddings)

This is the Tornai Juhfark Premium not the Pincezet. Perfumed lemons, beeswax and spring florals. The body is oily and waxy. Strong lemon, lime, underripe pineapple, melon, notes of honey and a nice strong presence of minerality sets in half way through. The wine has nice round high acidity with a round, lush finish. It definitely needs food yet still enjoyable on it's own on a hot day like today. Producer notes...the Tornai family has been winemaking since 1946 on Mt. Somló. Endre Tornai started making wine on only one acre vineyard. The family nows 56 acres. There planted varieties include; Juhfark, Furmint, Hárslevelű, Olaszrizling, Korona, and Sárfehér. They are located on Mt. Somló and the soil is made of volcanic rocks, which gives their wines a good presence of minerality.
