Pours garnet in color. Fresh cracked black pepper in your face followed by ripe fruit cinnamon and clove. The pepper moves to the background in flavors and dark berry followed by a hint of toast. This is a big wine. It is hot with a medium body and a very long finish. Heat mellows after decanting.

A clear dark purple, the '12 Tobin James Zinfandel 'Dusi Vineyard' lacked some intensity aromatically, but with air showed a brambly wild berry nose. Sweet tobacco, cracked pepper and mineral elements in the mid-palate. Finishes rather quickly with a crisp spicy note. Good steak wine!
