Thymiopoulos Vineyards
Terra Petra Rapsani Xinomavro Blend
VA for days. Interesting wine. Lacks some balance and is a little too volatile for my tastes.

Oct 5th, 2022One of the better and more unexpected wines I’ve had this year. Burgundy meets Nebbiolo but even more rustic. 50% xinomavro, 35% krassato, 15% stavrato.
Smells like sea jetty, your childhood best friend’s basement and the fresh plastic smell of opening up a brand new toy. Cherry compote, raspberry, hints of dark chocolate, and limestone.
Don’t think too much. The gods of Olympus and millennia are on your side. Just let it in & enjoy.

The Greek wines were the best of the bunch!
The Rapsani had cigar box, burning wood, barnyard, cherries, and campfire. Lovely!
The last wine was a dessert wine that was brown in color and contained massive caramel. Very thick and sweet, but refined.
