Since today is International Sauvignon Blanc day, I decided to do a little experimenting of some similar TX SBs, courtesy of @Ron Yates. Ron is the president of Spicewood Vineyards and also has his own winery, Ron Yates.

This SB comes from the oldest SB vines in the state, roughly 40-yrs old.

Though the Spicewood SB was nice, I thought this was a bit of a step up in every aspect. Bouquet burst out of the glass a tad more here with grapefruit, lime, and even some ginger. Great acidity. Finish had that lovely limestone/graphite note I get from SBs that I enjoy. Nice wine, Ron. 👍🏼

Beating the dead horse, but if you enjoy wine and learning more, there are really some fantastic wines made even more enjoyable by their price coming out of TX.

Wonderful Sauvignon Blanc from the oldest SB vines in the state. At least the oldest that I know of. Pineapple and lemongrass on the nose and crisp grapefruit and lime juice in the mouth.

Tastes as good as a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc.
