Trader Joe's, $20
Dark strong ruby color. Mellow ripe fruit with a slightly sweet licorice-like spice on the nose, very little astringency. Fairly typical appassimento type flavor, rich dried/jammy fruit, starts sweet then finishes with a bit of dry tannins. Has a slight savory sweetness beyond the fruit akin to vanilla or licorice. Quite enjoyable, worth the couple dollars over my usual budget.

Slightly drier, lighter from the 2014 vintage if I recall correctly. Some dried pepper and dried cranberries notes on the nose.
