Nostre Païs Costières-de-Nîmes Red Rhone Blend
Pale purple. A tight nose and trim body. An intriguing sour, mineral taste with soft, lingering tannins. Not an everyday wine that you have had a dozen times. An homage to "our country," the new appellation Costieres de Nimes, which represents one of the oldest wine growing regions in Europe. Adjacent to Chateauneuf-du-Pape, a much more prestigious appellation. Old World style, not fruit forward. Artfully composed from a blend of five Rhone valley wines, 50% Grenache Noir, with a bracing bite of 15% alcohol. Tres bien.

Apr 22nd, 2017Nice blend. Balanced, medium body. Slightly leathery, low acidity and smooth dry finish with lingering cherry.

Jun 2nd, 2016I dunno. 8.9 is an arbitrary number. I cracked this last night in another city, and I'm only tasting it mindfully now. But it's a day old, and I'm also scarfing a bunch of Indian food like I'll never eat again, so that's where my palate is at right now. It's good. It's red. Maybe fruit or something? Cheers.
