Good Zin that seemed a bit sweeter than remembered. Paired well with our BBQ ribs.

Aged well over last 7-8 years. There’s some oak, smoke, ripe berry with rounded tannins. Sharp and smooth simultaneously. Great with food or on its own.

If the wine says it’s from Rockpile, get it. . . Or I will! Was introduced to this region a decade ago and love the wines. For a 15.3% alcohol, this felt lighter, almost 2-3% less. Flavors are blending well, still has a strong fruit forward but the jammy sensation has tempered. Color starting to change slightly. This may have several more years and glad I have more bottles.

While a bit of age has softened this, you still get some of the pepper and spice along with soft dark berries, some light tomato and maybe even a hint of cherry at times.

First off - I’m a Rockpile fanatic and thoroughly loved this wine!! Fresh blueberry, raspberry, slight hints of licorice and tobacco, along with some earth tones with modest pepper. Incredibly smooth with medium (maybe below medium) tannins. Went excellent with our bbq tenderloin tonight. Need to add this - the back label of this wine is one of the most descriptive I’ve seen in a long time and worth buying just to taste and see the back.
