Jessup Cellars
Yolo County Petite Sirah
Death, taxes, and my enjoyment of Jessup Cellars wine. 3 things that are guaranteed in this life. Are they the best wines you'll ever have? No. Are they consistently putting out great wine across multiple varietals? Absolutely.
This was my first Yolo County Petite Sirah from them and talk about bold and jammy. Almost port like initially. Tons of juicy flavors up front on the nose and all over your tongue. Big blue fruit, tart cherries, vanilla. This really calmed down and became velvet like on day two. Smooth tannins. Another winner from Jessup.

Heavy nose. Velvet texture. Humidity on a hot southern summer day. Sweet nose. Black currants. Thick. Syrupy. Enveloping.

Oct 24th, 2016Thick and sexy, interesting & fun. Not your typical red... the nose reminds of the color violet. Palette is spicy, interesting and a little sweet. Fantastic legs.

Oct 24th, 2016Tannic, bold, great with chocolate, big taste and great with Brie and bread. Has a cherry/ blackberry taste that sneaks up on the taster right before the finish. This wine is full of surprises. Give it time in your mouth.
