Nose is not as deep or rich as I expected from a Gran Reserva, but there's definitely the typical earthy, cherry, black Forest cake, stewed red fruit aromas expected from this age of wine. On the palate, I'm getting fresh turned soil, chocolate cake with raspberry glaze, bitter medicinal herbs, and a touch of cherry liqueur. The finish is more bitter and tight than expected, medium tannins and not a lot of sweetness or even vanilla (as you would expect from a wine that's been in the barrel this long). To be honest, not my favorite temperanillo, and I should have guessed by the over decorated bottle. Whoops!

We beginnen koelkastkoel want hier is het 32gr. Bij het opwarmen komen de tannines en blijkt het zwarte fruit eigenlijk rood fruit te zijn. Koffieprut, struikgewas. Prima ‘ding’ voor 8 piek bij de Lidl.

Feb 5th, 2021Chocolate cherry cake and rich vanilla on the nose invite you into this lovely Riserva. On the palate, lovely woody tannins mix with a ripe cherry acidity and a vanilla dessert sweetness, but leans on the side of refreshing rather than overwhelming. The finish is a pleasant melding of all the elements. Lovely.
