The aromas jump from the glass, a breath of blossom-filled springtime. In the mouth it's sleek and concentrated, elegant and restrained. Dark berries and plums, backed up with refreshing acid. Spicy notes on the long finish. So damn juicy, but not a bit jammy. This is a special Zinfandel. 14.5% abv.

As always, from the Eschen block which dates to 1865 with average vine age well over 100 years old, at about 1800'. Berry coulis, anise, granite and forest floor. Years ahead but resolving nicely.

Deep red fruit, tobacco, acid and tannins that are assertive but balancing against the big fruit. Really lovely.
